Located within the heart of the Port estate, our Border Control Post (BCP) plays a vital role in facilitating freight movements from Europe and beyond.
The role of the purpose-built facility is to support the work of Government regulatory agencies, during the inspection of animals, animal products, plants and plant products.
The dedicated site comprises of 13 bio-secure inspection bays, with freezer and cold storage facilities, along with a range of inspection rooms and storage areas, as well as associated handling equipment.
The adjacent yard has parking bays for 47 truck-trailers, while visiting drivers have their own waiting area, complete with drink making facilities and toilets.
Located next to the BCP is the Border Force Office of Destination and Transit, which is available for the processing of T1 and ATA carnet documentation.
