Diverse,
flexible, efficient: Harwich International Port continues
to attract new business, while maintaining its
traditional strengths as one of the UK's leading passenger
and freight ferry terminals.
Located
in the fast-growing Haven Gateway sub-region, on the east
coast of England, customers benefit from the undoubted
advantage of lock-free, fast access to the North Sea and
European ports.
The Port is long established as a natural gateway to Europe.
Being a multi-disciplined port, the focus is very much on
providing a flexible, dedicated workforce able to meet the
needs of all customers. This culture is reflected in a commitment
to high-quality training for all port staff, and is evident
by the creation of a National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ)
scheme.
Harwich International Port is fully compliant with the latest
quality accreditation ISO 9001:2000 and is a holder of the
British Safety Council's Five Star Award.
Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Port works
in partnership with its customers to ensure that they consistently
receive the quality of service they expect. A steady stream
of investments over the past decade has created
modern facilities across all of the different businesses
served, from cruise and ro-ro, to dry and liquid bulks.
The Port has benefited from significant investment since
joining Hutchison Ports (UK) Ltd, part of the Hutchison Port
Holdings Group (HPH), the world's largest independent port
owner and operator, in 1998.
Harwich International Port is continually looking at ways
to offer additional services and improved facilities for
existing and new port users. This commitment to further growth
and investment will lead to significant expansion in the
coming years. |
