Harwich International Port Welcomes Back Travelscope
Harwich International Port is delighted to welcome back international cruise provider, Travelscope. The tour operator has been using the Port of Tilbury as its home base for the last two years, but has decided to return to Harwich and take advantage of the Port’s first-class facilities.
The Gloucestershire- based firm, which also provides coach and air holidays, specialises in ‘reader holiday offers’ found in the local and national press, and is renowned for providing exciting, value-for-money holidays. Amongst the destinations to which you can sail from Harwich are the Norwegian Fjords, St Petersburg, and the ‘Land of the Midnight Sun’, as well as the traditional Christmas Market cruises, of which there are three planned for the coming season.
Travelscope are well known for their impressive cruise collection and varied destinations, whilst their vessels combine the latest amenities and facilities, with an intimate and friendly atmosphere. The cruise ship Van Gogh will make its first sailing from Harwich in two years, whilst it will be the maiden voyage of the Athena from Harwich.
Chris Lewis, Chief Executive Officer of Hutchison Ports (UK) Limited, owners of Harwich International Port, said:
“Harwich International Port is widely acknowledged as one of the most user-friendly cruise terminals in Britain, with excellent passenger and luggage handling facilities and welcoming staff.
The return of Travelscope to Harwich is a fantastic boost, and reinforces our position as one of the leading cruise ports. Travelscope are widely regarded as one of the best in their field, and we are extremely pleased to be working with them once again.”
The return of Travelscope will add an extra nineteen cruise calls to the 2006 season.
